Michael asks…
Is my dog a Labrador mix Pitbull?
She had Lab ears and her face kind of looks like a pitbull and can be aggressive like a pit. When I got her they said she was a pit/boxer but I really doubt that. And she cost us 400 dollars, That was a scam.

Link doesn’t work.
Why would you pay $400 for a mixed breed anyway?
ADD: For the person that said pits aren’t aggressive, um, that is an overgeneralization, as is the generalization that they are aggressive.
A poorly socialized pit will indeed rip a child’s face off. Just like any large dog with teeth!

James asks…
someones dog to carry my pitbull mix puppies?
well i have a pitbull labrador mix and i would like to keep his genes going so i would like to breed him can anyone help i live in san diego?

weight answers:
Why do you want to breed the dog and keep his genes going? The only time dogs should be bred is to improve an existing purebred line to preserve a specie’s breed. You combination does not fall under that catagory. There are millions of puppies out there needing homes already. Please have him neutered.

Susan asks…
Labrador and Pitbull Mix breed?
6 months ago me and fiance found an abandoned pup on the street. We took him to the vet got him cleaned up and decided to keep him. I recently found out by doing some research and paying close attention to his habits, physical features, and temperament that he is a Lab/Pit mix. We couldn’t tell earlier because he was sooo malnourished and helpless that all he did was lay around, but now that he is very healthy and happy and used to his environment mostly his Pit characteristics are showing. We also have a 13month old yorkie at home who is terrorized by Prince (the lab/Pit mix). Its all in fun (to Prince anyway) but his aggressiveness is not only showing in his play time but also in his lack of attention and failure to stick to a command. I am wondering the best way to train his type. The research that I’ve done has given me some insight but any and all suggestions will help! He is very loving and LOVES attention unlike my yorkie Apollo who does not really like to be bothered too much so this conflict of personality can get hectic at times. I would love to hear what you think and suggest! Thanks in advance!!!?

weight answers:
Even though people say that pitbulls are aggressive to other dogs, especially ones that are smaller that them, this is not the case of all pitbulls or pitbull mixes. You should seek out a Professional trainer, someone who has had experience with the breed, or in your case the breeds that the dog seems to be mixed with. In your details, you stated that he is aggressive when playing, and that Apollo is terrorized by Prince, I don’t think it would be a good idea to leave them alone together. I hope that this whole thing gets resolved soon and you will be able to live with your dogs in peace.. (: P.S.- I really like the names you have chosen for your dogs, they are really cute (:

Laura asks…
which dog should my family and i get between an American Bulldog, Labrador, and Pitbull/mix?
I was wondering because we are looking for a new dog. We already have a 4 year old female puggle, but we want a big dog because we are a very active family and we want company for our little dog when we leave her alone and we want a good guard dog.
Thank you to everyone who answers
I forgot to add this in the additional details, but my grandfather and grandmother have been breeding dobermans for a long time and my mom was raised with dobies. So were me and my siblings we have had experience with big dogs. Also my uncle trained the some of the dobies i lived with in dog protection because our house has been broken into before and our dobie stopped him.
Sorry i forgot to add this

weight answers:
Pit Bulls generally don’t make good guard dogs. They are bred to be human friendly so that when they are in the “fighting pit” the owners do not have to worry about getting bit by them while separating the dogs. Most pit bulls would probably greet an intruder with a wagging tail unless it was trained to do otherwise. Your best bet would be a Lab, because bringing in a pit bull, when you don’t have pit experience could result in a very bad situation for your puggle, and in turn the pit as well. Good Luck on choosing your new dog.

Lisa asks…
Any Suggestions About Labradow/Pitbull mix?
My dog is a labrador pitbull mix and about 6 months ago she developed hostile behavior towards strangers. We have never let her get close enough to see if she would hurt someone. Does anyone know what I can do to stop her from feeling frightened by people
I probably should have added this before, but she went to obedience school with us for 9 months, was around a ton of people, and since we got her she was afraid of some people, but never aggressive before. We take her on long walks around our heavily populated neighborhood twice a day, but everyone becomes afraid of her and wont come near us….so we’ve done the training, we even paid $650.00 for private training sessions, she is soo sweet to us, just not to strangers. Any more suggestions?
She also used to go to dog park but once she became aggressive we were asked not to come back

weight answers:
I agree with Katie – she needs to go to a behavioral trainer before it becomes out of hand.
